Decent sized car park but it can be popular in good weather and spaces can be in short supply. The park is nicely organised and there is also plenty of opportunity to get into the surrounding countryside on footpaths, both the Hertfordshire way and the Watling Chase Trail go through the park. The nearby water tower for the old asylum has been converted into residential flats and is worth a look. Currently (January 16th) the countryside is very waterlogged so wellies or walking boots are recommended.

This place is a real gem, especially for families. Lots of open space with woodland for walks, an immaculate and well equipped playground for both small and older kids (see photos) and a cafe serving very, very nice food. Open all year round and a great option even when the weather isn't quite perfect.
Really enjoyed my visit today. The apple orchards were a delight to walk in. Also went in the walled garden which had some great scenic viewpoints. Didnt try the cafe but it looked busy and had plenty of outdoor seating. Car park very convenient but I suspect it might get very busy at times. There are also some child play areas with swings and slides etc. Its all free, except for the cafe of course.
Very nice, lovely and peaceful place. Its clean and green, a nice place for evening tea or a lunch even.
This is a lovely outdoor space in Shenley the cafe is really good and the service great. A little bit of tranquillity in the middle of Shenley.
