Best fish and chips I’ve had in years. The curry sauce is to die for. So much flavour! Great value for money and the Staff are very friendly

The cutest little local fish and chip shop in Hartland. The nicest chips I've had in a long time. Super hot and fresh cod, although could have been a tad crispier. The prices are crazy cheap for what you get! Highly recommend.

I'm in Devon for a short break and went here (on the 29/06/2020) for what I thought would be an enjoyable treat, how wrong I was. I'd ordered a large fish (cod) with a small chips. A regular fish with a large chips and a large battered sausage and chips. The chips were of the poorest quality I have ever tasted, made with the cheapest and poorest quality potatoes possible (possibly sweet potatoes (potatoes that were well past their best)). The fish was like something you'd get from a box of Birds Eye fish portions. I think it would be fair to say that it was 85% batter and 15% fish, it was difficult to find once into the batter. The chips were cooked to death, they weren't golden brown and crispy (as you'd expect), but, dark brown and bone dry. Also, whilst eating the (so called) fish, I had the nauseating experience of having a long hair wrapping itself around my tongue. With this order we had 2 curry sauces and a can of coke. In total, the order was almost 21. For this money I would have been better going to McDonald's as the quality there would have been significantly better. It took me the majority of the evening to recover from the nausea I felt from this food that (on reflection), was not fit for my dogs to eat. I posted this exact, same review on their Facebook page, along with a photograph. Within 24 hours, they had closed down and removed the reviews part of their page, aswell as removing the photo. The only plus sides I can think of is that the customer service was good and, (if the food was of good quality), then it being cooked to order would have been an additional plus point.

Freshly cooked to order. Friendly staff. Fish is a decent size and nicely cooked.

Ate here a few months ago so maybe they have improved but I don't think so. I can also confirm that we had soggy, almost cold and very dark brown chips which were absolutely inedible, which we didn't notice until we were back at the campsite. You may claim that \everything is made to order\ but I'm pretty sure that getting soggy old chips out of a compartment behind the counter is not \made to order\ so stop kidding yourselves! Second star is only because the fish we got was actually freshly made so it was really nice. Doesn't make up for the fact though that these were the worst chips we ever had anywhere!
