Shadwell Tandoori Restaurant

After regularly visiting ‘Shaddy Tandoori’ throughout the late 1980’s and through my youth.... it’s been many many years, as we like a delivery. As I was passing through Slaid Hill, we decided to grab a ‘lockdown takeout’ for old times sake. They recognized me after all these years, in spite of the fact I have much less hair and a few wrinkles which was a nice welcome. The mixed starter for two was stunning. Tender lamb and chicken tikka, amazing seekh kebab and more. Most impressive of all was the way the salad was packaged. On a shrink wrapped polystyrene tray and lovely presentation, not the usual soggy little plastic bag. The pickle tray was so so generous too, especially the finely chopped onion which was in a large resealable container. Mains were balti lamb and spinach which is our favorite and we have not had it better or more tender from anywhere. Plus a king prawn tikka biriani packed with prawns and a superb veg curry side. Nan bread was lovely and poppadoms were crips and thin end not greasy. 28 for a huge meal for two (some left over for lunch today, yippeeee), for stunning food. Amazing value for money. Will be seeing you again very soon guys.

Collected a takeaway from Shadwell Tandoori this week after a long day. Quite an extensive menu so I opted for something I'd never had before, a Naga Tarkari. The portion was generous and absolutely gorgeous. Real depth of flavour and not just a hot curry like some places would probably give you. The restaurant wasn't flash like some in the city are and it was all the better for it. It gave the place a very relaxing and welcoming feel. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.
