If you're looking for an old-fashioned, traditional boozer in Falmouth, look no further than the Seven Stars, located in the centre of Falmouth Town (about a 10 minute walk from the station). The place hasn't changed a bit since I first visited eight years ago: the same worn, decades-old furniture, the barrels openly visible behind the bar(s) - and the good range of ales that has earned Seven Stars an entry in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide. Well, they don't nail mobile phones to the walls any more - but you are still advised to set them to \silent\ if you stay inside. Thankfully, there is also an extended outside seating area now - that wasn't there eight years ago, maybe due to the fact that I first visited in autumn back then. On a warm day, this is clearly the option to choose, especially since the view onto the square is rather nice, and since the Seven Stars occupies a niche a bit off the actual square, it is rather relaxed and quiet. This is a place for beer lovers.
Despite the anti cellphone militancy expressed in other reviews I found this place a decent character pub with a great courtyard area out front in the square to read your phone mail in peace. And the Bass really IS a good pint here. Taking Covid seriously with one in one out toilets and maximising al fresco drinking over in house. Worth dropping by.
At last I have found a place that has more dust than home. Called in for a quick one while waiting for the bus. Nothing wrong with the place that a deep clean wouldn't fix. P.S Decent lager, so why worry.
Excellent beers and ciders, lovely atmosphere and an interior that is unspoiled by any dodgy refurbishment. One of the best pubs in the country. It's always a joy to be there
