I just left a scheduled appointment with Dr. Wasnick after waiting in the car with my infant grandson for a full hour, but never saw the doctor and was refused an exam for the baby. When after 65 minutes, I finally got into an exam room, I expressed my frustration with the long wait and was told by the employee escort, “OK.” Then she lectured me in a condescending manner regarding all the patients who have serious problems and emergent events. I responded that I would have rescheduled if there had been a courtesy phone call regarding the wait. My son had called to give permission for me to bring the baby for the appointment and gave all pertinent insurance information. The employee asked me if I could make legal decisions for the child, and of course I said there were no decisions to be made, it was simply an exam. The employee, (unfortunately I was too angry to ask her name or position,) went to look at the chart and said there would not be an exam. I challenged her, and then she backtracked and said they could do the examination. I packed up the baby and walked out. I called when I got home and arranged for the 50 copay to be voided. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had as a mom of three and a grandmother of six. The nastiness, rudeness and condescension is completely unacceptable as is a wait of over an hour with an infant.

What an awful experience. He should be ashamed of himself. I took my three year old daughter in for evaluation, and he told me and my daughter that my daughter is expressing pain in attention seeking behaviors. She has a legitimate diagnosis that can cause illness. We had seen him once for a second opinion evaluation, where he agreed with the diagnosis and advised to come back if there were concerns, and this was follow up for a concern. He was rushed, dismissive, and sarcastic, spending less than 5 whole minutes in the room. He gave no follow up guidance at all. I am a physician myself and would have never spoken to or treated a child or her family this way. I will not be returning and should have trusted my gut and the first practice I went to.

Dr Wasnik saved my life when I was only 4 and nearly died of a UPJ obstruction! I remember him still! I can still remember his voice and its 27 years later! Thank you so much Dr. Wasnik! I wouldnt be here today if it hadn't been for you!
