Burning coal at Fiddlers Ferry was bad, but shipping dead trees across the ocean, loading them onto big diesel trains to be burned at Drax is 'green energy'. Anybody who actually believes in this nonsense, I'd encourage you to watch the documentary 'Planet of the Humans'; that really exposes the green energy facade for what it is....

Using biomass is removing forests quicker than they can grow. It takes at least 25-35 years to 'offset' the amount of carbon released by burning down forests around the world. That is a blatant lie, Drax does not increase the wood volume, it attempts to replace what it takes away. Drax hacks through forests quicker than they can grow back, which puts it at a carbon deficit. This is green-washing at it's greediest.

Informative and interesting tour. Was the only one on the tour and could ask lots of questions. Great answers and friendly, knowledgeable tour guides

In agreement with JE Churchill, stop deforestation and go back to coal with FGD. Don't buy it from abroad, there's a massive opencast thermal coal operation they've just closed, up the road in Durham. Toshiba and China are still building coal plants, OUR lights will go off at this rate. Then the \greens\ will start griping. Bio mass is a complete con.
