We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The whole site is well thought out and the collections fascinating. I felt we were at the Arctic with them. The cafe is to be commended. It is obvious this place is cared for with love and dedication.
Delicious cakes and savouries in a perfect setting. Very dog (and muddy walker!) friendly. When the village shop closed for business the cafe started to stock newspapers and household staples to help local residents. During subsequent pandemic related lockdowns the team then took this to a whole new level and completely repurposed the restaurant to house a very thorough selection of fresh veg, chilled meats and artisan breads and so provided a vital community service that villagers and visitors alike are immensely grateful for.
Fantastic. Came on a cold day, so didn't see the gardens, but the museum was so interesting. The cafe was excellent too. Will be returning.
