I usually have too many books, and so I tell myself when I enter Talewind Books, just pick up your order, don't get distracted, but I end up leaving with more to read because they have such a diverse and rich selection. Bookstore is well organized and employees are very kind. They made some great recommendations too! Highly recommended stopping by is you're in the area.
An excellent old-fashioned and proper book store. I prefer to buy books locally when I travel, as a way to support local businesses. I had gone into Talewind on my first day in Sechelt, hoping to find something from my reading list. Unfortunately I didn't find anything on the shelves and couldn't remember any titles but when I described one of the books the staff knew it, knew when the last copy was sold and when the next shipment was arrived. Based on that book, two staff members began helping me find something they thought I would like. It's probably been decades since I was in a book store where the staff had read all the books and could make recommendations to match my tastes. I finally settled on A Gentleman in Moscow, a book I never would have picked myself but it turns out to be exactly the kind of book I like. Great store and I will definitely be going back.
Wonderful place! Great atmosphere & friendly employees. I asked one of the employees for horror recommendations and she gave me a publisher’s edition of a new book (Kill the Mall by Pasha Malla) for free!
