I recently had a surgery performed by Dr. Louie. His arrogance from beginning to end was palpable, he made little time to explain anything of real value, and was clearly overbooked. I don’t expect a surgeon to be nice, I expect a surgeon to do a good job... which was why it was particularly disturbing that a separate doctor who did an ultrasound said that if we had gone with Dr. Louie’s recommendation, the surgery performed would have failed after the fact. He missed a common-sense complication and then had the nerve to ask me why I was in pain. If that complication had not been corrected (which he didn’t acknowledge the importance of and arrogantly questioned why I was complaining) I would have been in another potentially life-threatening position. Do no harm shouldn’t be taken lightly — and this surgeon’s God complex will be made evident the second you meet him.

7 years ago Dr. Brian Louie did an esophagectomy on me, removing stage 3 cancer of my stomach and esophagus. Not only did he save my life but did an excellent job in explaining the procedure and what to expect afterwards. Not a day goes by that I am not grateful for his service!
