I visited this fish bar tonight whilst staying local due to the aroma in the air whilst I was out walking, I ordered a regular portion of chips but did have a very long wait as they had a lot of telephone orders as well as several customers waiting for large orders, there is a cozy little restaurant at the rear & everything that was being cooked & put into the hot plate did looked tasty, lots of variety to chose from off their menu with good prices, when I did unwrapped my chips I found them to be worth the wait, a good portion size, hot & flavorful, I can't wait to return & maybe eat in the restaurant next time.
Very good food, not dripping in litres of oil, decent fishcakes that actually taste like fish. The only slight downside is if you pre-order over the phone to minimise your time in the shop (Covid), when you arrive to collect your order, you still have to queue with all other customers in a line, inside the shop (2 metres apart). Then they ask you what you want and serve it to you. So there seems little point in pre-ordering, especially as you have to stand in the shop and wait with everyone who hasn't pre-ordered.
Lovely food nice people
In my opinion the best fish and chips (and takeaway or street food) in the area by some margin. They provide generous portions of brilliant produce that is well cooked, perfectly seasoned, and competitively priced. It is good that my foodie partner insisted we go back for seconds three days later!
