We recently discovered this lovely cafe and have used it with both friends and family and have never been disappointed. The food is very good and the friendly staff excellent. This combined with the great location means that I am happy to recommend it to anyone

We arrived for a coffee late morning before setting off for a coastal walk to Newhaven and back (8000 steps). The coffee was nice and strong and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We booked a table for lunch for after our walk. A table was reserved for us - this is recommended as it does get busy (Friday). We ordered a BLT sandwich, mushrooms on toast with parmesan and salt and pepper squid with a generous bowl of chips to share. My squid was fresh and tender and served with a mixed leaf salad. The mushrooms on toast was a repeat order for my friend's wife and his BLT was apparently \delicious\. They have been to the Galley at least 6 times and it is now the place of choice to meet with friends. The most impressive part of our lunch was the excellent service from the young team. Not only were they very attentive, polite and helpful, their Covid-19 cleaning was exemplary. The Galley is dog friendly. Ignore the many older reviews on here which reflect a completely different team. The new staff deserve 5 stars. We will be back Gavin & Keith
