We were having trouble with our anxious Border Collie who was scared of going on walks and would only walk a couple of routes locally which was becoming a nightmare because during lockdown we couldn't always just bundle her in the car and take her into the countryside. It got to the point where she would refuse to walk from the house at all so we were really distressed and obviously her even more so. I got in touch with Paul after a recommendation from a friend and after the suggestions from a behaviourist up here (we live in Newcastle) didn't help. With really simple changes (new lead to help her feel more securely guided) and education for us on how to make her feel more confident in her 'pack' , she is now walking (after only a very short protest) and she is much more relaxed at home and outdoors. Paul's explanations for dog behaviour make so much sense and I really appreciate the time he spent with us, it was all over Zoom video calling so if he can help us this much remotely I imagine he can work miracles face to face! Paul is absolutely incredible with amazing knowledge! Our boy was a bit of a terror with other dogs and in 1 session he was able to guide and support us in ways to allow us to minimize our issues. He is so so friendly and won't \beat around the bush\ when it comes to the relationship and guidance you need with your pupper. Which is exactly what helps and is needed!! I honestly would not go anywhere else. Paul has helped us in so many ways with recommendations, referrals and training. Thanks again Paul!!
I was introduced to Paul around 3 years ago when he cared for my employers dog. Ive always been hesitant using pet care but I could see straight away his genuine love for dogs and the excitement he shared when picking them up for their walks and equally the excitement he got back from the dogs, so I asked Paul if he would also look after my own mums dogs for relief visits whilst we worked. The house was always left clean (even after doggie accidents) and I always came home to 5 very happy dogs! A few weeks ago we adopted our newest dog Diesel from Romania. Diesel arrived a very scared dog with no training due to spending his life on the on the streets. Paul has honestly been an amazing help, showing us how Diesel would be seeing things, advice on feeding/grooming and settling him with our current dog. Getting Diesel on a lead was a massive struggle due to his past, Paul gave us advice on how best to help him overcome his fears and even gave us a fitting harness & lead, which is already showing its benefits! We honestly would have no hesitation in recommending Scruffz to anyone, Paul is a fantastic guy and is always willing to help in any situation. All our dogs love him, as do we! Charlotte & Ollie
We met Paul for our meet and greet yesterday. Our puppy Miley is 14 weeks old and she absolutely loved Paul as did we. A very genuine guy who clearly loves animals. We spent around 1 1/2 hours with Paul and came away not only feeling confident and happy with what he showed us but also with a harness and dog lead ( that he gave to us ) which is 1000 times better than anything we'd already bought . Paul's walked my bullmastiff Lola in the past, and she ADORES him more than anyone i know! But during lockdown i was having trouble with her barking whenever i was on the phone or video call, this had been going for 5 years but obviously wasn't as much of a problem. Paul did a 15 min video call with me to give me some tips. Problem resolved. Unbelievable!
Paul came over and stopped our two labrador puppies fighting within 5 minutes. He then spent the rest of the consulting time giving us tips and tricks to get them to be best friends. Paul left us feeling able to manage our two puppies and we have since really started to enjoy our animals. We've also used Paul to go on walk training where his suggestions of equipment and techniques helped so much. I can't recommend Paul and Scruffz enough.
