Probably a bit biased, as I'm a member, of many years standing, used to be a volunteer, however health issues meant Sadly I had to give it up. Great place for all ages to visit, and, spend as much time as you want, even when the weather may not be great, there's still plenty to enjoy, a train trip, and, the excellent Museum, where you can spend a fair bit of time, getting access to some of the exhibits, and, depending on whether you take the time to read the information, which is abundant about Scottish Railways History. Relax in the Cafeteria, with a good choice of foodstuffs available, and a wee browse round the Station Shop. What more could you want on a Day our.
im a armchair follower but follow this railway on u tube. There a friendly bunch of people giving enjoyment to the public and the engines are awesome and treated with pride .
An excellent place to visit, plenty to do, Train Rides, along the 5.5 mile line, Excellent Museum, where you could spend a lot of time, children love being able to touch and climb on some of the exhibits, decent Cafe, Station Shop for souvenirs. Oh and, The volunteers, who run the Railway, are a very friendly bunch too.
Really nice few hours, the staff add to the lovely experience. It is a must see ..
