Small and well curated. Concentrate on silver smithery. Well worth a visit

Outstanding collection in a very well preserved place. We loved the museum and we enjoyed Schoonhoven.
I truly enjoyed my visit to this great museum of silversmiths after a long journey from Amsterdam via Tel Aviv . However , I was put off at the cafe as they ran me down to pay twice for a cup of coffee . I never did feel all that welcome in Dutch silver town , perhaps all Americans are set aside at a distance or maybe my appearance coming out of Israel. I spent hours looking over the great works of art and craftsmanship here and visit the clock factory just down the street- It was closed down but the gentleman welcome me in with delight and took some time to show me around even gave me Clock parts after finding out I was a graduate of Bowman School of Watchmaking. There are great shop here but prices are steep. In my mind very best of quality. My mother’s people are early Dutch. I casted a silver wrench bangle but it broke on the journey due to air bubbles in the casting it was repaired for near 90 in town. I hope to return someday in better garments and enjoy a meal at a cafe. This museum should forever remain open and the place where silversmith gathering , from around the world.
Not much to see, the place has a mildewy smell and for some reason one of cashiers thought my Museumkaart was fake. Ridiculous.
Pretty museum, it's a bit expensive for its size but if you're into jewelry it's interesting. Visit the village too, Schoonhoven is very charming.
