Scarlet Oak Tavern

Scarlet Oak Tavern in Hingham, Massachusetts never disappoints. The porterhouse was cooked perfectly, and leftovers were tender the next day. Baked mac and cheese was not too heavy. The red wine braised short rib over gnocchi was fall apart tender and the gnocchi had excellent texture and flavor. And the chilled crab salad was a great surprise, super fresh and light, but just enough flavor that it made an excellent appetizer. We were too stuffed to try dessert, but next time. Simply one of my favorite restaurants on the south shore. Excellent every season. Warm atmosphere. Upscale tavern feel, but never pretentious. Vibrant and tasteful menu. Hardworking and kind staff. Great cocktails. And I've not once had a bad experience with the food.

People were waiting in line already before opening, meaning the restaurant is popular in town. Well, it proves to be true that the food was absolutely excellent. For eon I haven't had clam chowder so good! All else, down to the water, meet the highest standard of quality and taste. In addition, the staff is very professional and superbly friendly. Ample parking lot, eat in or out. Great place! It's worth visiting them.

I had been wanting to try the SOT for some time now . And on my birthday I was surprised with lunch there . I was surely not disappointed. I am now addicted to the Fig and Pancetta Flat Bread it is incredible. The burger was cooked to perfection with a wonderful char .

Ambiance is quite cozy. I ordered a steak tip Cesar salad and it was delicious. Drinks were balanced and they had generous pours. One of our favorite date night spots!
