Beautiful hike along the lake from Bowmere. Some soggy bits along the way so be sure to wear waterproof boots. The hike ends in a valley with the waterfalls. The view from the bottom is great but a short climb into the waterfall is even more beautiful. Be very careful if climbing in further as the rocks are super slippery. (Advanced climbers only!)

Great walk from Buttermere up past Scale force and onto Red Pike then back down Sourmilk Gill. Path to Scale force is easy with the last bit a bit steeper. Lower fell can get a bit boggy at times so tread carefully. Full walk to Red Pike is strenuous and requires proper boots etc. Path down past Bleasdale Tarn is very steep and loose scree so be careful. My youngest 5 year old did the full walk in 4 hrs with a half hour lunch stop just to give you an idea. Full walk is just under 6 miles. Enjoy!!

Personally I think going in Autumn is the best choice. The mixture of colours of the trees across the mountains is beautiful. Be prepared for boggy areas though but the view of the waterfall is great.

Nice waterfall visited during longer walk in the area. Seems popular as a destination for walkers from Buttermere and surrounds

Well for a visit if you enjoy the higher drop waterfalls. Wasn't much flow when I went on this occasion but still one of nature's beauty's.
