To start with we booked the hotel because we especially were looking for a nice experience in their restaurant Nest. But it was a big disappointment because of the service. However they did there best too make it right. We arrived and were brought to the table. After 15 minutes someone came to bring us a menu. We ordered a bottle of wine and a Wild-Menu and for my friend a some dishes to make up a vegetarian menu. After 30 minutes we still sit not have our wine and due to corona at 8 you can’t drink anymore (it was already 7:30) so we asked and finally got a drink. The food the first dish then came 45 minutes after we ordered. The next dish came again 30 minutes later and no one took in the mean time our plates or asked if we would have another drink. This happened during every course. We need to ask the waiters even to take away plates from the table because it was too full. At the end we ben got a bill that was 10% to high because they charged too much. It would be ok if the price tag behind their menu would not be that high but it is, though you should get good service. This was not the case. But they apologised and even gave us a bottle of Prosecco for the room, that was really nice . The taste of the menu was standard for that price segment .

The food was of good quality. The menu is very different to other van der Valk restaurants. Don't go here for a quick bite of food. The staff is friendly but very slow. It takes at least one hour for a simple lunch. The atmosphere is nice and it is a good place to sit and have a coffee or tea.
Try the T-bone steak(450 gr.) from the dry aged cooler! It will not disappointend you... And listen to his story before he arrived at your table! Funny there also toilets esspecialy for childeren!
Used to be great- Very nice restaurant in that the play area for kids is really done well and the woman in charge is always so friendly and kind. The buffet is somewhat expensive and not a lot for vegans. The kids create their own pizzas and then they bring them to the fire oven and it was always the highlight of their visit but since the Italian pizza chef left last month, they have completely lost the ability to make pizzas! As basic as throwing it into the stove- you get either raw or burnt. Really bad. Really really bad. And a basic tomato sauce is absolutely INEDIBLE! Disgusting! I usually go with another family but we are all “over it”. Perhaps they will get a good chef again. And for just under 20 Per child, I’d say pass.

Het Nest restaurant is onderdeel van het van de Valk restaurant en biedt met live cooking een prima all-you-can-eat voor 35 euro per persoon op zondag. Goed verzorgde middag met zeer divers assortiment voor jong en oud. De kinderen mogen zelf pizza's maken. Prijs is wel flink.
Prijs kwaliteit verhouding matig. Vriendelijk personeel, maar er gaat wel een en ander mis
