A typical Birmingham members parkland course that offers something for every golfer. The back 9 is IMO the more interesting of the 2 nines and one thing I found is that the wind certainly blows in Sandwell, being so high up which isn't always obvious due to the abundance of nature trees that are throughout to course so shots into the greens need careful club selection especially those downwind. The greens were in good condition and some had some quite interesting slopes on them which needed careful consideration. The holes in general were not that narrow so you could get away with the odd wayward shot and by far the standout feature of the course were the fairways. They were in superb condition, it was like walking on carpet and for that alone it's worth playing this course if you like playing off lovely fairways.

Haven’t played Sandwell since the 90s and was delighted to be invited to play there recently. It was excellent as ever, greens quick and well undulated. A good test of golf with a friendly clubhouse and helpful staff. If I lived locally I would definitely apply to join.
I must declare an interest. I have been a member here for over 10 years. This has a reputation for being a 'tough ' course, challenging with generally fast and undulating greens with nice vistas. Every visitor I have taken here has enjoyed the course and the pleasant clubhouse and friendly staff. Food is available during normal times, and again generally very good. Try a game of golf on a 125 year old Harry colt designed championship course. Well worth a visit
