ceasar salad, giant onion rings, catfish and steamed broccoli we live in houston and make a little trip to San Marcos almost once a year and I have never been to grins it was so good we were jonesing for catfish and didn't know where to go so we looked up catfish on google and first thing that popped up was grins the onion rings were so big I didn't get to finish my food the catfish was awesome and the atmosphere was on point the music they were playing got you in a good mood (it was classic rock ) also practicing safe distancing which is good oh I almost forgot from 3pm to 7pm its 99 cent margaritas whooo hoo if you ever come to San Marcos make grins a stop on your list ....

Great food. Went to San Marcos so my son could do a college visit. Was great to see some of the restaurants still there from when I attended. This was one of my favorites and just as good now as it was then.
It was beautiful, twisty and turny.. I didn't even get to the end of it. It's biggest restaurant I've ever been in. You can sit by a fireplace or overlooking the river. The food was very good and the service was even better!
Wanted to try some place new. Glad we ventured out. The service was great! Our server was friendly and made sure our dining experience was great! We had the Onion Rings as an appetizer. OMG! They were huge and delicious! Next, we ordered the Chicken Fried Steak. It was tasty and delicious. Nice atmosphere. We will be back to try others on the menu.
Came out to Grins today and we were sat outside at our request. Nice patio with a nice enough view. We were waited on by Micah and she is a top notch waitress. Micah was very knowledgeable about menu items. We had the neither here nor there burger and chicken fried steak. Both items were good. Chicken Fried steak could be a little more tender. The burger was cooked to perfection and the buns were nice soft and fresh. We will be back to try other menu items. Hand cut fries would be a plus if you incorporate them than the bagged fries. Micah is amazing and she is very good at what she does. Grins is great! Don’t take my word for it, try it for yourself.
