The best togo sashimi. Ever! So fresh and delicious. Love coming here for a nice lunch treat. The people there are always so friendly too!

I checked out this place while I was browsing on Ritual for my dinner take-out food. Actually I think I've seen lines in front of this place so I decided to order ahead of time. I ordered Mini Omakase and it took less than 10 minutes for it to get ready for pickup. They have that really lovely wrapping. Everything is just so neat and detailed. Sashimi is just fine. But I would recommend it to those who would like some fast but well prepared food to go. They close early by the way.

It was delicious high quality sushi. I got the salmon for 18. It was late and they were sold out of everything else if that tells you anything. Glad I came here, and will go again.

Wow - probably one of the best sushi I have ever had in San Francisco... The fish was very fresh! I got “mini Omakase” (chef’s choice, small) for 15. The small box (3.5 in x 3.5 in x 2 in) does not look like a lot, but it comes with a small package of sushi rice, miso soup, and a package of aji-nori (Japanese flavored seaweed), wrapped in a small wrapping cloth. For me that was more than enough food, but if you have a big appetite, the regular omakase is 39. I will definitely go back there.

Very thoughtful packaging. Fish is fresh and price is fair for what you get. I ordered my line so I am suppose to skip the line for pick up. But since there is just one line people in the queue gave me dirty looks for not following the line. It would be better if they have a separate sign for pick up to avoid confusion.

Oh my God Becky, look at her lunch... I love Japanese bento and had to visit The Grubbies after spotting it on Yelp. It's a little take out window with Japanese signage and a big drum next to it. The line was pretty long during lunch but after I spotted the uni and ikura lunch set I decided to commit to the process. It took about 15 minutes for us to get up the window but the ordering process was fast. I ordered my lunch set, paid and got to make a wish and hit the giant drum. Oh yes! This is what I call true entertainment! My lunch came wrapped in a beautiful blue scarf and I carried it back to the office to unwrap like a wonderful Christmas present. My uni and ikura lunch came with rice, miso soup and nori. Each bite was everything I wanted in the perfect Japanese comfort food lunch and for me it was well worth the hefty 35 price tag. They have cheaper lunch sets and I definitely recommend ordering ahead to avoid the lunchtime wait!

More than just a beautiful package for lunch! I got the Chef's Special which was well worth the 39. Wrapped in a gorgeous cloth, the special included an assortment of salmon, otoro, uni, scallops, tuna, salon roe, and other fish on a bed of cabbage and packed with sushi grade seasoned rice, miso soup, dried seaweed, soy sauce (in a cute fish container), and of course wasabi and ginger. I got lucky on my first try going there because they were sold out after me! Definitely worth going back for seconds and more!

The 30 Omakase bento box: delicious but had small sashimi pieces which were cut very thinly. Given this is a takeout counter with no places to sit, it is pricey. We are not big eaters but we were quite hungry afterwards.
