Simple, fresh, delicious, and great value. Had sashimi and sushi/sashimi dinner combo. All fish is awesome and fresh. Looking forward to come back!

This was my favorite meal on my last trip to LA. I parked in the parking garage next to the restaurant and was able to park for free! My friend and I both ordered the 5-hand roll set (20), substituting Bay Scallop for Salmon. Once you finish one hand roll, the person at the bar starts to roll the next one until you finish the entire set. The hand rolls were super fresh and each one was packed with flavor and didn't need soy sauce. I wish they had this place in SF! I would eat here all the time if I could.
The sashimi cuts were delicious. Definitely try their miso too. Possibly the best california I ever had. You can tell the ingredients are high quality and thankfully they don't add any cream cheese to the roll. Made with love by kind and humble people
Nice cozy place that serve good sushi. The service is outstanding both from the writers and from the chefs on the bar. Good selection of sake - they poor and overflow the glass calling it Japan style. I loved it.
Great sushi does not have to be overly expensive in S.F. You will enjoy Sakana sushi and the relatively affordable prices. I walked by many times before finally stopping in. Wish I would have done so sooner. During busy times there is a short wait. It’s a small place with 8 tables and a bar. They do not charge for their green tea.
