It goes without saying that the service itself is top notch. You'll be unlikely to find better anywhere else and that alone is the reason for the three stars. With that said, Alexander's San Francisco gets a big ol' fail for accommodation. Arrived at The Patio by Alexander's in San Francisco on a 50 degree evening to find out they had 2 heaters for the entire outdoor seating area, which, where I was seated, was completely open to the elements of windy SF. The tent only partially covered the outdoor seating area, and there was lighting outside the tent, but nothing inside the tent. It was a poor excuse for an outdoor dining area for such a known eatery. I was blown away by the incredible lack of care or concern for it's patrons at this renowned restaurant. I was told that I should have requested a table with a heater when I made the reservations. Truly not something I would have ever imagined would have to be said at a restaurant of the caliber of Alexander's. Thank goodness the service was amazing, it helped to pass the cold evening. But I would never go back. Alexander's, fix this issue.

I take my family to this great spot a lot! This is the best place to eat. I go there at least once a month. The food is excellent, the crew is welcoming and the payment is fair. I like eating in this spot for a good meal.
Fantastic service. The plates came and went with such efficiency and the staff were attentive and fun to talk with. Loved the food, the wagyu butter was to die for. Please just give me a tub of that. It was pricey, but totally worth the special occasion.
Below average food. ordered delivery. Been coming here for years but they took minimal effort to make good food this time.
Great steak and the cocktails come in a mix your own kit which let's you dial it in just like you like it.
