Had a bad experience over the phone the customer service was not good. The manager tried to reassure me but I lost interest. If it gets to the point where you had to argue with the staff before even placing the order and as a first-time customer I just couldn't trust the experience. Sadly I'm unlikely to give them a second first attempt. The one thing nice about Chicago is there are unlimited options for Mexican food. I really wanted to try them based on the reviews but it was not a nice phone call. Treat your customers with kindness and you will likely earn their loyalty. I did not try the food my rating is solely based on my experience today over the phone.

Sammy’s never disappoints when dining in, between the margs, signature tacos and all around atmosphere this place sets the standard! Also, with recent restrictions placed on them by that slob in Springfield, they have mastered the takeout business like no other! Support these fine people any way you can!

First place we dined in at since March. Friendly staff, great Mojitos and the food was delicious. An unending stream of tasty salsa and chips were free. We ordered the Guac and Chips appetizer and the Guac was very good with just a little zing. My wife ordered the Carné Asada and I ordered the Tampiqueña. Both were delicious! Be sure to try both of the house sauces! I especially liked the heat and smoky flavors of the Red sauce! We have one complaint, due to Covid rules you get plastic utensils. Our meals came with a 'real steak knife', which unfortunately needs a 'real fork' to cut the steak. We managed . We shall return! ️

Apparently, Tilted Kilt has been subdivided and we found this fresh, new Mexican place by accident. It was a good find! Aside from the building temperature being a bit cold on that particular day, the modern decor is very attractive and inviting. The food was equally appealing and the flavors were decent. While not a particularly unique menu, Sammy's offers standard Mexican fare. Give it a try if you're up for some decent Mexican food.
