Been at SLC guitar for about 2.5 years and its great, my favorite thing about it is the communication between the two teachers. They work really well together and one always knows what the other told you to work on. It is a great environment and i have become a pretty good guitar player. It also has a great atmosphere that's really friendly, diverse group of people and i have met so many awesome folks.

By far the best guitar lessons you could get in all of Utah. My daughter was only 5 years old when she started lessons and the improvements and way Preston teaches is unlike any other place. HIGHLY recommend!

My daughter has been going to SLC Guitar for almost 2 years. I cannot say enough to how much we love this place. She is constantly learning and challenging herself. The teachers are awesome and very knowledgeable. They really care about the students progress. The school recently had their first student showcase and it was AMAZING!! This is the place for all levels.

My son has been coming here for the past nine months and we have nothing but great things to say. He was a complete novice when he started. Now he has an extensive knowledge of riffs, etudes, chords... the list goes on and on. It is so exciting to watch his progress. He takes a particular liking to creating his own songs, an easy feat for him now because he learns music theory and composition along with amazing instruction on how to actually rock out. My 9 year old happily goes to TWO hours of guitar classes every week. It is NEVER a fight to get him to go to guitar. He actually keeps begging me to let him take MORE lessons a week, he cannot get enough. Preston and team really know their stuff and we are so glad to have found them

Honestly, there are a few reviews on here that I think are totally unfair to Preston and his school and I can't help but question the honesty of one review in particular. Seems rather far fetched to me. I started taking lessons there and it's a great program with a lot of hard work put into it. I just needed a take a different approach. I worked hard on the lessons but I couldn't keep up so I decided to try one on one lessons rather than the classroom format. It's working for me and now I feel like I've acquired the skills to take full advantage of Preston's program. Though I have no intent of changing direction right now as I'm making slow, but steady progress. If I were to source a new guitar coach, I'd wouldn't hesitate to ask Preston if I could come back.

I've been taking lessons for about a year and a half, and couldn't be happier with the results. This experience has proven to me that you are never too old to learn a new skill or hobby. I went from not knowing how to tune my guitar or how to play a single chord, to performing a song in front of a crowd. Both teachers are excellent, and keep the lessons fun and interesting. Preston goes above and beyond for his students, and manages his business like a true professional. He planned a student showcase that was more like a concert than a student recital. The classes are more than just memorizing songs; we learn a lot about music theory, songwriting, improvising, etc. There are students of all ages and abilities, so I highly recommend SLC Guitar for anyone who has an interest in learning to play or improving your skills.
