Had been staying in Saintes for 2 nights & were longing to try this restaurant out. It was worth the wait. I'm now firmly hooked on cucumber sorbet ... perfect !! Our 2 course meal was excellent, our host knowledgeable, friendly & most interesting. He explained the different dishes well, suggested a great wine & our evening was lovely. Thank you, we will return

Even though not very lavishly presented, this little restaurant is one of the best value quality establishments that I have found in the region, and certainly worth a 100km round trip. Located in a small alley in the old quarter of the lovely town of Saintes, just 100m or so from the Charente, it is a cave (wine shop) that has expended to a restaurant (or possibly vice versa). The chef clearly is serious in presenting interesting and tasty dishes well presented. There is a menu for 17/20 for 2 or 3 courses. Good selection of wine available by the glass. I had then 'selection du jour' for all three courses and was delighted with all three. A real find.

Verrassend lekker resto op goed geluk tegengekomen... Zeer verfijnde keuken voor een aanvaardbare prijs. Sympathieke en behulpzame bediening ! Absoluut een aanrader !
