Great tour of the Bourgoin Cognac vineyard and distillery, given by the owner Frederic Bourgoin in both French and English. We were picked up from the courtyard in a 1960s Peugeot van passed down through generations of the Bourgoin family and driven through the vineyards to learn about grape growing. Then we were brought back to the distillery to see how the cognac and other products are made. We found it really interesting that Frederic works with bartenders and bar owners to produce sugar syrup, wine verjus (the same acidity as lime juice) and a triple casked cognac that retains the carbon from ageing and great for cocktail mixology. Definitely recommend the tour, tasting and picking up a bottle or two!

A wonderful visit to a family run cognac business. This is by far the best tour we have done. I visited last summer and loved it so decided to come back again. The tour offers An insight into the history of the drink and Also the local area by a member of the Bourgoin family . It’s personal, authentic and super trendy! It’s a must do, I will keep coming back each year. Oh, and the cognac is fantastic too ;)
Beautiful venue - you are treated to a tour of the local vineyards (featuring an amazing viewpoint over the landscape of Nouvelle-Aquitaine) - English language is available as well. Wonderfully friendly hosts and proper tour experience. Really educational (including the history of the venue and science of the fermentation and distillation) and also really fun (riding out to the fields in the back of the old van). Lot of Cognac and other alcohol tasting for the value. Would go again!
Très belle expérience ! Un accueil chaleureux plein d’empathie par de jeunes passionnés de leur métier. Des réponses à toutes les questions, à partager et surtout ne pas hésiter pour sortir des sentiers battus ! En Plus la qualité et l’originalité sont au Rendez-vous. Un superbe moment.
Nous étions 10 équipages et avons été reçu délicieusement par Frederic, Muguette et Maelys. On ne se lasse pas d d'ecouter Frederic nous conter la passion de son metier ,de ses produits. Si vous passez par Cognac, à 20 minutes vous serez chez la Famille Bourgoin, alors pas d d'hésitation . Merci encore pour cet accueil , pour les dégustations qui nous ont tous appris , et pour le final au pied des vignes. Dès que les bouteilles seront en niveau bas nous reviendrons !!! Nous avons passé un très bon moment avec Frédéric qui nous a appris tant de choses sur le cognac. Il est passionné, toujours souriant, très disponible. Voilà un producteur indépendant et engagé à fond dans son exploitation! Bravo.
La visite était super! Frederic est sympathique et très intéressant. Il nous a amené avec son van au cœur des vignes, puis dans la distillerie, et nous a retracé l’histoire de ses produits a travers diverses étapes historiques et anecdotes personnelles, pour terminer par une dégustation des plus variées! Très enrichissant, plaisant, nous recommandons vivement!
Visite et découverte du Cognac individuel et unique. Nous sommes restés près de 2h30 à discuter de l'histoire de la famille, du terroir et du Cognac. En un mot des passionnés. Un grand merci pour votre accueil.
