Popped in for lunch, what a lovely place! The staff were all really helpful and friendly and the food was amazing. I had a tuna melt and scone and my husband had a baguette and carrot cake (he said it was the best carrot cake he's ever had!) the scone was amazing too, nice and warm! The place was clean, staff were wearing masks and I felt quite safe with the spacing etc. Will visit again next time we are in Rye.

Lovely café... Wonderful service... Yummy food. What more could you want? Great experience Café Zara. Thank you.
Lovely little cafe. Love the jacket potatoes with cheese and mushrooms. Plus you can get a beer.
Dreadful. The notice in the window said 'Waitress Service'. Another one said 'Staff Wanted'. I can only assume that the 'staff' required is a new chef...because the one they have is not up to it. We walked in and found a table and waited. Another couple were already at a table....waiting. A further couple entered, sat down.....and waited. Eventually one of the third couple to come in went up to the counter - and was told to take a seat and their order would be taken, which it was, but the waitress was still blissfully unaware of the first couple and us. I ordered egg, bacon and mushrooms, partner order ham, eggs and chips, plus coffees. Ghastly....all of it. The eggs were cooked in a mould and solid rubber...no definitive yolk. The bacon was hard and tasteless and the mushrooms were swimming in grease. Partner's eggs were the as mine, chips were tasteless and ham was from a packet. Coffee was acceptable. Probably the worst cafe in Rye and I really should have checked the reviews before entering.
