WOW this place is amazing. I always have to drive through Rutledge but this time I stopped for food. The sandwich was like a taste of heaven. Will definitely be stopping there again.

The Caboose is the stuff of which small town legend is made. Ed started selling shaved ice out of an old caboose and the establishment has grown into the kind of place that'd make Fanny Flagg proud. Try the Choo Choo chicken sandwich and of course leave room for ice cream or shaved ice. They also sell a goodly selection of local baked goods and crafts. Vegetarians will be okay, but vegens should go for shaved ice. Wheelchair folks can get table service in the adjoining store front. There's plenty of city parking and it's free.

Best turkey sandwich ever - I'm not sure what made it so special but it was delicious!! And my husband enjoyed his lunch as well.

Historic rail car caboose is the cornerstone of this restaurant. Originally an ice cream parlor has morphed into a nice sandwich shop and restaurant. Decor is southern, small town eclectic. Outdoor covered seating is available. Our breakfast was delicious and the service was friendly. Fun place to have a meal in downtown Rutledge. Street parking appears to be adequate, except on big events.
