Walking around the perimeter of the castle leads you to imagine how it was when it was a stronghold, with views across the estuary. Sadly because of covid19, the pub was shut, so we could not get into the inside of the walls. We will go back another day to see what the inner walls are hiding.
A great place to take the kids to have an adventure. There are tables to have a picnic. Lovely for adults to walk round there's lots of information telling you about the castle. The views are tremendous. We had a walk outside the castle then went inside. The kids had a fantastic time playing hide and seek. There is a pub attached to the castle. We had a nice bike ride up the very very steep hill. Once we visited we rode down to the Millenium Green then home. If you walk around the bottom of the castle hill you'll find many ways to get up there, especially if you're walking. I've got pictures of all the information displays. But that would ruin the fun.
always a relaxing place to sit
Only had time to walk around the outside today. Great views of the region on a sunny day! Will be back for a drink at the pub and to explore inside before long!
