Loved the food here. I had the Daily Special - Steak, Stilton and mushroom Pie and a friend of mine had the Smoked Haddock! Also had for dessert pear and ginger crumble . The upstairs is really cosy. Really recommend

Had a lovely Sunday lunch today which would be hard to beat. Can highly recommend, it was delicious.Beef tender as you like, roast and mash potatoes, Yorkshire pud, carrot and swede mash, broc, cauliflower cheese and red cabbage with proper gravy, Generous plate of food and seasoned perfectly. Very good value for 11.95.The waitress was lovely and very attentive. Thank you Rumours for an enjoyable experience..didn't have room for pudding! MN
We booked a table for upstairs. We found the staff extremely pleasant and welcoming. The food was delicious. It was curry night. The curry included a drink and was 8.50. We also ordered a warm mackerel salad which tasted great. Can't fault the place!
A pleasant surprise in Buxton - Rumours Wine Bar surpassed expectations in all categories - food, wine and service. I was a bit weary from the outside looking in (online and in person), due to the kitschy logo, lack of wine menu and limited food selection, but am glad we gave it a try. In the end, the wine menu was extensive and reasonably priced, there were a variety of well priced specials and the youthful staff, not always the most professional in these places, were well trained here. Our special: platter (charcuterie - plenty of meat) and bottle of wine for 20 (total bill) - enough for 2! Highly recommend and would defo return.
Nice atmosphere, enjoyable evening was had by all . Not to busy upstairs & a nice touch having table service for drinks , so no going up & down stairs for the bar ..... Merry Xmas
