It was soo lovely and relaxing walking round. Our 6yo got to build a den which was amazing. We will definitely come back for pond dipping once lockdown is lifted :)

My first visit was in August, easy to find parking good toilets were open and clean. I started walking round the reserve spotted a Chinese water deer in the meadow, on the river spotted a otter, near the tower hide spotted a swallow tail butterfly . Continued my walk to the small river inlet spotted a kingfisher on a post, a bit further along came across common lizard basking on a log. This all happened in one morning excellent.

Great place for all the family. They arrange several events a year for kids and it's a great place to go for bird watching and wildlife photography. I've seen many species of birds as well a several types of deer. They also have refreshments and hot drinks on site.

We went in November, Fen path was very boggy (wellies or good walking boots). There was a woodland path that was ok. Nice area for walking, didn't see many birds but then my kids were a bit excited and couldn't keep quiet.

I love it here. There are plenty of trails that offer views of the Broads and fen itself. A wide variety of birds, that will change depending on the time of year. Some of the birds I’ve spotted (in summer) include coots, herons, grey-headed gulls and mallards. However, there are many more if you get lucky. The hides are all roomy and enable you to see the wildlife going about their day. Plenty of good photo opportunities. A picnic area is on site, as well as a well-stocked cafe/shop. Ample parking on site. There are also toilets available. The staff are friendly and informative. If you enjoy spitting wildlife, or just enjoy a good walk in the country, you’ll enjoy Strumpshaw Fen, whatever time of the year you visit.
