Wonderfully welcoming place. I’m not actually Christian myself but do feel remarkably welcome here, even more so than other churches. Joshua the Pastor is unique to us over here. He is American and was originally going to be a history teacher. So as only Americans can really be he is wonderfully enthusiastic and weaves in historical facts in his sermons. For example, I now know that the word “paradise” comes from the Persian for garden and also the context for this was delivered in the sermon. A very well recommended visit - And families with young kids are actively welcomed.

Lovely people, great teaching and wonderful worship, all mixed with some truly beautiful people. Not sure what more you could want from a church! Heartbroken to leave when we moved away and have grateful and blessed to have been staying in touch via online services. Therfield Chapel is a great place to be a part of - it's your forever home. Therfield Chapel is a welcoming, wonderful place. The atmosphere in here is so powerful, you could feel a deep, strong faith every minute you spend here. Even if you’re not sure of your faith, it has such an amazing energy… Every time I visited Therfield Chapel, I felt it was a very relevant, educational, meaningful and fun visit. Worship to God runs through the chapel in form of songs… where I’ve felt everyone is welcome to join in the way they feel comfortable doing. Their reading of the bible, their teaching, their response to issues of life… is very revealing to me. I come from a Catholic background, and I’ve never experienced before such a simple, direct, and important focus on God. People in this congregation are very welcoming, warm and nice. They are very dedicated, and organise lots of events with great spirit and creativity. There’s a wide range of age, interests… it’s very easy to feel comfortable around them. They make huge efforts in helping you wherever you are. During these pandemic times, I’ve really enjoyed and valued all their online services. (They make an incredible effort in that area. Their streaming is priceless. They also publish podcasts of the sermons that same day, and post the services on their social media) I have a small child, and they have a great set up and spaces for them. I would recommend this place to anyone that is in the area. If you want to meet people. Or if you want to explore your faith. If you have some questions you never found the answer to. Or just if you want to have coffee and listen to great music on a Sunday morning. I’m sure you can find here more than you are looking for. I know I did.
Therfield Chapel is a very warm and welcoming place. There is a broad age range in the congregation, which makes for a very inclusive atmosphere. Many have been coming to chapel for decades and some have discovered it very recently; there is a wonderful cohesion brought about by the huge efforts made by those who lead, teach, organise and make very nice coffee. The teaching is truly bible based; God's word is at the centre of it all, no frills or distractions. Worship through song is an important part of the approach here. We are welcomed to worship in a way that is comfortable to us. Raise your arms, stand and sing, sit and reflect....any response to worship music is acceptable here- the goal is to praise God and the people here understand that praise looks different for everyone. Kids church is great, bible based stories and crafts delivered by a great team of ladies. The social events have grown in recent years, to include weekly prayer meetings, bible reading and home group... these events even continued under lockdown! A lovely chapel and a great place to meet people and grow your faith.
