Visited on a late September evening..this was a perfect place. Impeccable service, strict but unobtrusive Covid guideline adherence. The food was lovely and great value. Lovely for meeting with friends or family. Nice for a date or special occasion. My only comment would be that service was slow and it was hard to catch the eye of waiting staff. However, the ambience was so nice it wasn't a problem. Just leave a bit of extra time.....

Most importantly it's dog friendly..an absolute must for me. Great selection of drinks and food is fantastic. Lovely friendly staff and a great atmosphere with various log burning fires and different sections to sit in...a regular stopping point for us on a dog walk
Visited for Sunday lunch and had a wonderful meal, firstly all safety measures were being followed and even had spare disposable masks for those that had forgot. The service was quick and efficient and most importantly the food was excellent. would highly recommend
First time at this pub and it's lovely. Great looking pub, inside and out, with lots of helpful staff. Had their roast and it was amazing! Huge portion and beautifully cooked. Will definitely book again for their food
Food for all needs. Whether you're a local, a hiker or a tourist. What I mean is that there is a good variety of starters, big and small mains, Sunday roasts too. I read the reviews re prices. I'd say this pub stands mid-way between London prices and the average country ones. But that couple of pounds more are well justified by the taste of food. I got a banal fish cake. 7.50 for 2 crunchy pieces with minty mushy peas and a great touch: fried capers. I highly enjoyed them! My boyfriend had 3 (which is way better than the usual 2) tasty sausages on mashed potatoes. Again, the dish had something in it that made it different from the average. And you can eat outside which is quite pleasant. On a quiet road, by the footpath. I hope to bump into it again soon!
