We got here with a Eat&Sleep arrangement from Heerlijk.nl. It was an outstanding experience: the decor of the whole house is totally in vintage, local style and very tasty. The sleeping room is a complete house on the back side of the herberg. The 6 courses menu was sofisticated and delicious but without prétentions. Especially the pork terrine and the snoekbaars filet were really excellent, l'est we forget the cheese platter. The wines are first quality and not too expensive for their level. The service is quick, kind and competent. All for 90- euros per person (excl. drinks). No way you're going to regret your money, anyway. The Herberg van Smallingerland: one diamond in the rough of a off-the-beaten-track land.

This is one of those places tucked away from the usual hustle and bustle with an awesome atmosphere and an even better menu. Great place for a celebration or business dinner.

Prachtige ambiance, tuin en interieur. Heel mooi gerestaureerde herberg. Net, schoon en smaakvol ingericht. Fijne bediening. Het eten wat super. Lekker, gevarieerd en heel goed bedacht om in COVID-TIJD geen kaart te doen, maar de klant te laten kiezen uit meerdere gangen en wensen erin verweven. De alcoholvrije chardonnay is echt lekker! En dat vind ik echt nooit! Een succes dus. Gedineerd buiten, koffie met friandises binnen, super cappuccino! Kom zeker weer terug!
