Horrible service for foreigners. Seems the old Dutch waiters don’t want to talk to you, but they simply have to.
Great lively atmosphere, and still able to have a conversation.
The oldest bar in Rotterdam and that says a lot on it's own! The personnel still works for the guests instead of working for the bar. They give you the most warm welcome I've ever had in a bar. And the bites they serve..oh my, they're from heaven. If you're in the city center and want a really nice drink, definitely go to Melief Bender!
Walked in, was ignored. Sat and waited for 10 minutes to order and was ignored. Went to the bar to order a drink and was ignored. Not sure if we were treated poorly because we were “foreigners” or because they just don’t care.
