AMELA Process Optimization is a tech-startup that grew out of the PhD research track of S.Z. Boksteen. In his dissertation, he advocated the integration of statistical and thermodynamic modeling, as well as operational improvement strategies, enabling the movement toward a SMART Industry, otherwise known as Industry 4. Maintaining product quality, increasing plant availability, controlling environmental emissions, increasing energy efficiency, keeping a competitive advantage, and adapting effectively to changing customer preferences are all necessary aspects of plant management for chemical processing and energy companies in enabling sustainable business development.
