This bridge of part of a waterlock system, which consinst of a lock and two bridges. Whenever a ship wants to pass, they open one bridge (depending on the direction its coming from) and reroute de traffic over the other bridge. When the ship is inside the lock, they close the bridge en open the other. The traffic gets rerouted again until the ship leaves the lock and both bridges are closed. The bridges are never open on the same time. Average waiting time for a open close cycle of one bridge is around 5-10 min.
