A lovely free museum that deserves to be viewed if you are nearby, plenty to see and some good insights are given into local history. There is only to see going back to Roman times and before, right up to present day even covering the lockdown of 2020. Staff are extremely knowledgeable in my experience and couldn't be more helpful.

Went on 6/8/20 with my grandchildren Lovely park although very annoyed that nothing but the funfair was open. I understand the covid 19 has had an impact but the website didn't state that the water and adventure areas were closed. We went with limited funds and no cash cards. We did have a picnic but had 3 disappointed children as they were looking forward to the day. I always check websites before making plans so would have made other arrangements if I had known. .
Grown up round the place, beautiful gardens outside too
We were regaled by one of the staff who took time to inform us of the history of this beautiful place. Well worth a visit.
