Avoid. Roast dinner is vile. Stringy beef, cauliflower cheese covered in plastic cheese which was still cold in the middle and hard to eat. Also had a puddle of water in the bottom of the dish. Not entirely sure why. Roast dinner advertised as having ‘all the trimmings’. Except peas. Don’t ask for peas. They have none. Cauliflower cheese is also an extra 2, so not included in ‘all the trimmings’. Apple pie had raw pastry, the custard was disgusting, as though it had gone sour. Ice cream refrozen several times leaving it crusty. No real word of apology. No offer to reduce the price. Other than that it was delightful.

One of the best pubs we have visited in the area. Food was fresh and tasty. Staff were attentive and nothing was to much trouble. I would recommend this pub to anyone looking for good honest pub food.

Poor food and poor service. Roast dinner consisted of stringy beef, what looked like very old veg (no peas, just cabbage and a single piece of broccoli), a slightly burnt Yorkshire pudding and under cooked roast potatoes. Pudding was apple pie with raw pastry, custard which tasted like sour milk and overly frozen ice cream. Told the waitress and just got a 'hope your meal was okay'. Avoid!

Not impressed at all. My wife ordered a salad which was supposed to come with 'house dressing'. It was delivered with no dressing at all, and when we sent it back for dressing, it came back just drizzled in olive oil - not as described on the menu. Food was OK, but nothing special and not worth the price if it wasn't the eat out to help out scheme. Also, blonde waitress who served the food seemed confused when we sent the food back and even when we asked for ketchup for chips - not great service. The other brunette waitress who served drinks was very helpful, though.
