As a patient of the surgery for over 40 years, I've seen the practice expand from one site with just three doctors to two sites with numerous GPs and nurses. You are able to see whichever GP you wish. I have experienced past consultations where doctors don't seem interested in your ailment (these doctors no longer practice) to doctors that take an interest in your care and take time to diagnose the problem with the correct remedies. Dr Tricker is one who will listen to you, comes up with a prognosis and is very keen on your wellbeing. A young and most helpful doctor with a nice manner who has your interest at heart.

I used the email a GP service offered by Abbey surgery & I was impressed how quickly (within 48 hrs) that I got a response from Dr Tricker, with helpful advice. Saved me booking an appointment & was far more convenient for me.

Where do I start? Firstly they don't bother updating your new address so letters are sent to previous addresses. Secondly they let gravely ill children go under the radar. Back in 2012 I bought my very ill 5 day old newborn into the surgery, she had severe weight loss, the beginnings of caracts and jaundice as well as projectile vomiting and loss of movement in her legs...did they admit her to the hospital..no, they simply advised me on my breastfeeding methods and tried sending me away..I had to beg for infant gaviscon as a last resort, they prescribed her the gaviscon but it did nothing. When she was 7 days old I was advised to take her to the new forest birth centre, where again they lectured me on feeding (id breast fed 2 babies before) and sent us on our way. Midwifes tried to get her admitted but hospital said they didn't have the authority to, so that is WHY I went to abbey mead surgery! Went to a&e when she was 10 days old and again they sent a my very ill baby away. Finally she was admitted at 16 days and diagnosed with a rare metabolic disorder galactosaemia (can't have milk even breast milk) which kills most babies within a week. So yes not a good experience at all, and it's left me with very little faith in the NHS.

Ringing and ringing no answer! My daughter was given medication for a UTI which hasn't helped at all!! I read up on internet about a UTI in young children and it says that doctors will provide special wipes to help keep clean and medication to help the infection. Now I cannot even get though to you! My daughter has had a UTI for a while now and let me tell you if anything happen to her kidneys because you lot couldn't do your job right I will make sure I take you to court. I am sick of doctors not doing their jobs right!! I brought my daughter in TELLING you she had a UTI you ignored it and said you have to get a sample which took me over a week to get due to my daughter still in a nappy which meant she had the UTI without medication for another week. Now I cannot even get though because you won't let people phone until 12pm you are useless! I came to your surgery because alma road was terrible when it came to being able to tell me my daughter had colic and now you lot cannot even help me get rid of this UTI!! I'm having to ask other mums for advice. I always work in care and know just how bad a UTI can affect people! I wouldn't ever recommend anyone to your surgery!
