This was our fourth visit to this restaurant, and sadly our worst experience to date. First, they claimed to have lost our reservation despite us producing an email confirmation. Then they attempted to seat us at the worst table in the restaurant right next to the kitchen. And the meal ended with us having to wait over 30 minutes to get the bill, which was surprising as they didn't seem to like having us there in the first place. The food was still excellent however. This was very disappointing as my favorite thing about Al Moro was the (historically) impeccable service.

One of the institutional trattorias in Rome. The food is as they say in Italian “ottimo” : simply great. The service is friendly. The ambiance is hundred percent original to Rome and makes you feel in this historical city. It has an Italian client base of real local residents , politicians, media personalities. You will be satisfied with whatever you order. They add dishes according to the season. I was lucky to be there once at “vignarola” season at spring time when they stew artichokes with pees and fava beans, a dish to die for that l had to order two servings. I prefer it for lunch as it is located at the center of the city, very close to the Trevi fountain to allow myself a good and tasty break and then walk out to sunshine and continue my promenade in the streets of Rome.

Terrible, tasteless food. We had the \Pasta al Moro\, a boring version of carbonara using cheese and pancetta that reminds me of my student days in London. I ordered lamb brains, that were impressively unexciting, that came in the form of deep fried balls devoid of flavour. If they paid me to eat it it would have been acceptable, but at the price it is criminal.

Amazing place with a really great service. Great food. Ask your waiter about food and wine choices. Do book as it's a small place.
