Food looks fancy but isn't all that at all. Quantity is good though. Price is incredibly high! Definitely not worth that price. I think people just come for the patio seating. The ambiance is nice in the patio. But the food is a disappointment. The drinks are good though. The service isn't the best. They do have live music on the weekend.
Not bad but not great, husband ordered a bowl of chicken tortilla soup and they brought back some clear chicken flavored broth with fried tortilla strips, no veggies no rice, no chicken. Just the broth and fried tortilla strips. Really awful. I got some grilled chicken, don't remember the name, it was ok but I don't know, I think it lacks flavor, it didn't have much seasoning. Just salt and pepper maybe, the plate came with white rice and black beans and some salad and brined cucumbers. Service was good.
We were very disappointed from start to finish while eating at Rolandos. When we called to make a reservation the hostess first told us they were all booked up and then later stated she could squeeze us in. When we arrived for our reservation not a single soul was in the restaurant except for us. When we were seated we were given chips and salsa which was just corn and black beans in a dish. There was 0 music playing which made it awkward because we were the only ones there-finally when music did start IT HAD FREAKING AD’S! After every song it would play a mattress firm or geico ad! Food was very bland and had 0 seasoning with some random cucumbers and picked onions added to every dish. Atmosphere was a sad excuse for a Cuban “speakeasy” as they would call it. How can you even call it a speakeasy when you’ve got mattress firm ads playing and country music! How random! The whole experience was confusing. It was only 8 o’clock and they were already blowing out candles and about to call it a night after they were supposedly “busy”. Thank goodness Vault was just down the street! Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
Always a great place to eat. The food has never been anything less than perfect.
