The prices are amazing. Maybe too amazing. The store is easily crowded. It can be hard to find a specific item due to inventory layout. I bought a bunch of stuff the other day and the cashier forgot to give me a bag of goods even after asking him at the end if I got everything and receiving an affirmative response. Luckily, the staff was able to provide me with the missing goods hours later with minimal explanation from me. 3.5 stars for now.

I love Harbor Freight, can't beat their prices. But I only gave four stars instead of five because the line was almost 20 deep before they added a checker.

Kyle (cashier at HF) is a very rude person. I saw him berate a customer over not waiting to be called to the register (covid rule) although there was some confusion between the two registers. When the customer decided not to buy the item Kyle told the customer not to come back. Every time I go into the store Kyle is rude, he acts like he is mad at the world. I'm glad I'm not Kyle!

The overall quality of tools at HF has increased steadily over the past 25 years but they still cater to the budget-minded shade tree mechanic. You used to find better deals but now almost ALL of the "good stuff" is exempt from their famous coupons - something that has driven at least 20k worth of my business towards higher quality competitors due to price point approaching similar territory. That being said, this location usually has decent stock; knowledgeable staff; and a relaxed atmosphere even though the employees get super busy at times. Ample parking. Only thing I would change is they should post a sign or have customers sign an acknowledgement that if you have to return anything with a gas engine, it must be drained DRY of all fluids. This is probably written somewhere, and its most likely the law, but having it posted in a prominent spot would be helpful on the rare occasion it applies. Hint to Corporate.... bring back the old days of allowing the 20% coupon on any single item (instead of exempting nearly all brands), and your customers will spend more money ! It is blatantly obvious that the "name brand" products are re-labeled stuff from the same manufacturers (yes, I have verified this by emailing the chinese corporations in the past). This tactic allows them to be exempted from the coupons and drives up margins without a quality bump. Other predominantly American brands tried this years ago and theyre not doing well these days. Stick with what works?
