We spent a delightful few hours today looking round the gardens and enjoying a tour of the house. The weather was glorious and there was plenty to see in the gardens even though autumn started officially today. Our tour guide was very well clued up and gave us an interesting commentary as he guided us around the house. Covid precautions were in place so we felt very safe. Well recommended.

A very special place in my heart, great day out with the family
We enjoyed the Halloween tour as a family. There were very good covid precautions in place. Plenty of parking and free too. Good toilet facilities. All the staff working there were very friendly, helpful and happy despite it pouring down with rain.
Worth doing the guided tour as there are lots of little historical titbits and artefacts, Tudor kitchen, beautiful long gallery etc. We had excellent take Away baguettes sitting on a terrace with a terrific view across distant fields. A really lovely 900 year old place to visit, unspoilt by touristy stuff. Beautiful gardens and grounds. Reasonable wheelchair access.
More a manor house than a castle, but still steeped in history. Beautiful gardens with commanding views over the local countryside. Well worth a visit.
