Without a doubt the best Chip shop in the area. We live in loughton. Whenever we get fish n chip I past 4 chip shops to get to the Rock n Roe. Wont go anywhere else.

Great place to eat fish and chips. The food is affordable , tasty , delicious and fresh food that they make in front of you. The staff are sociable , friendly , kind , understanding , helpful , polite and respectful. I brought fish and chips from them which cost me 8.80 , it was absolutely amazing to eat and it was hot as well which was good because it didn't get cold easily. Go there and buy your food from them because it is worth every penny. I have been going there for years and it is good place to go if you're hungry. They have great customer service that will make you like them even more and more as a good friend. The place is clean , tidy , retro , big , spacious , classic and every time I go there I feel like I stepped back in time which is great experience because I know people want to live like they just saw this shop for the first time.
Two different sizes of cod makes things awkward. Chips were ok. Mushy peas were a disaster, more like mushy pea soup. I doubt I shall bother again when there are so many others that are better.
