They tell you they will have a tech out right away but it's actually 4 days later. Not good with efficiency

I try to use local companies when I can but I am extremely disappointed with Vortex doors. They quoted me 500 to repair a hinge on the door at my business which only took 2 screws to put on. After I told them I would do it myself and if I could just buy the part the quote was 200 just for the part. Mistakenly they told me the name of the part over the phone and a quick search online I found a hardware store in Los Angeles which had it for only 20, and for the whole set (top AND bottom) at that. There is absolutely no reason to try and price gouge somebody like that, especially a fellow small business.

Vortex came out to the shop I work at to replace a garage door spring ordered the wrong size and installed it then re ordered a new one installed it and the door doesn't even stay open wrong spring again then they say it's done and bill us for 2 Service calls when they screwed up so I can't give them a negative do that's why they got a one never ever again will they step foot on this property again. Terrible job would not recommend or ever use at any facility Bad service bad management cost way to much for their screw up

I called Vortex for an emergency repair at my business. Our overhead door was hit by a truck and was stuck open. It took over 10 hours for them to show up. I did receive a couple of calls during the day telling me that a technician was coming, but could not tell me when they would arrive. 2.5 hours after our close of business he arrived. I figured he would assess the damage and give me some sort of cost and time to fix it. I was informed that is not how it works. He had no clue what their rates were. He worked on it for a bit and told me that he could keep working on it for what could be a few more hours at an unknown rate and it still may not work or he could seal it up and someone could give me a quote on what it would cost to fix it later. At this point I had been at the office for 13 hours and was not about to gamble more money on this company. I told him to finish up and go. The total service was over 500.00. The door was put back in place and not functional. They stole parts off of it, which one of was returned after I called and complained. They billed 128.00 for the 7 minute commute from their office to my office and back. The repair quote was close to 2700.00 A couple of days later our other overhead door was hit and damaged in a similar fashion. I called a competitor. They sent someone out right away at no charge to assess the damage and provide a quote. They fixed both doors for under 1500.00. Vortex seems good at going around putting their stickers on your doors to call their number for service, but when I needed them they fell way too short.
