Having driven through the village several times, today we decided to stop off at The Rising Sun for lunch and we were not disappointed. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Good food and the menu choice was reasonable. A dog friendly location which is always a bonus after a long walk.... Will definitely be visiting again.

I have been using the\Rising Sun\ for almost 50yrs and I find the new publicans have worked their hearts out to make it a really welcoming pub with super staffand an always changing menu by chef Java. Well done Jo-Jo and Gareth in these extremely difficult times.
I chose chicken goujons and sweet potato fries as I didn't want too much as I'm on chemo and taste buds are shot, we waited a long time and when asked how much longer were told there were no sweet potato fries, if I wanted something else another wait, so had ordinary fries. It was extremely busy as it was the last day of 25% off and I heard other people saying how delicious their food was. Unfortunately ours wasn't, and I'm not sure I'd want to go again any time soon. The girls were extremely apologetic and of course it wasn't their fault. We weren't charged for the drinks or chips, and 25% off, so very cheap.
Delicious food, great atmosphere, real value for money. Couldn't Finnish my meal ther was so much food. Would recommend to everyone. Felt very safe with all the covid rules. Thank you Jojo and Gareth.
