The cathedral is notable architecturally for its gothic west front in the Early English style, considered one of the best of its type, as well as the Geometric east window. The seventh-century crypt of Wilfrid's church is a significant example of early Christian architecture in England. The cathedral has Grade I listed building status.

Very impressive place to see when you especially think how long ago it was built! Looks brilliant in the sun, and a lovely place to go and relax on a sunny day and get away from all the hustle abs bustle
Beautiful cathedral. Definitely worth a walk round - you can scan codes on your phone to find out more about different areas as you walk through. Staff very welcoming. Small gift shop too. Just a 5 min walk. From the car park and very close to the restaurants and pubs
Looking very beautiful and very safe just now. My granddaughter especially loved the treasure trail
Such a beautiful cathedral, you don't need to be religious to appreciate the aesthetics of this building. There is a sense of peace you get from the interior. Free entry. You can make a donation if you wish. The thousands of white objects above are paper angels.
