Wonderful place. Well signposted, so easy to find. Folly dating from 1700 set in wonderful woodland. Lots of paths. Car park with honesty box, recommended 3. You can spend all day here. Great views and lots of terrain to explore, enough to wear both dogs and kids out. The pine trees smell fabulous. Sturdy bench seating dotted around. Lots of wildlife, finches etc, but did not see a single squirrel surprisingly. The longer walk did have some quite rightly described \challenging\ parts but it all made the trip to the Bivouac Café all the more enjoyable. I will definitely be back, even if it's just for another bowl of delicious wild garlic and potato soup. Enough to make anyone purr.

I was on the way to Newcastle and i heard of this place before, so i thought i stop by to check it out. Well.... it definitely worth it, but i wouldnt plan a trip from like 300 miles away, just because to see it, but it is a MUST BE SEEN IN LIFE place! Its very relaxing there with a hint of beeing in a mystical place, and when you walk in the forest, you can hear a complete silence,(except nature....) I loved it!

Loved this place! We got there really early so there was no one else about. Parking a short walk away with an honesty box. Loved the little notes about the elves and the fairies living there too! Great place to take kids or just to go for a walk!

A nice, gentle stroll around the woods with some fun sights including the druids temple itself! Had a chuckle at my own naivete when I discovered this isn't an actual prehistoric temple but a Victorian era joke. Appears to be some log cabins for hire in better climes. Well signposted walks with maps scattered about and little activities for the kiddies on special occasions. We went just after Halloween and there appeared to be a fact finding, treasure hunt going on! Definitely worth the half a day out!

Absolutely stunning walk; very atmospheric and perfect photo ops. Definitely wear those boots if it’s been raining beforehand, but everything is still accessible
