2 question, Gourmet???? And Who are these people giving this place 5 starts I wonder. Some of the common theme of the comments are "reasonable price, fair price" What the hell is wrong with these people with no taste buds. Obviously you are getting what you are paying for. At the time of this review the 550ml was priced for 10.5 reals and it's cheaper then good/better Açaí places yes but there is a reason. The Açaí sold here Rio Açaí "Gourmet" is pre-mixed with syrup and water!! You and your buddy next to you can hear the cracking sounds of ice getting broken in your mouth. This Açaí is crunchy, not creamy or smooth. You are getting a much higher percentage of water/ice for your reasonable price Açaí. (If you want without any sweeteners there are 2 available options available, which I did not try. Please see images) As a place with a Açaí in it's name it deserves maybe 1 star.

Takes forever to get your order. Staff had no idea what was happening and no desire to help move things along. Had to ask multiple times for my order. Took 45 minutes to finally get it. Save your time and go somewhere else.
This place has the best acai in Ipanema, and probably in all of Rio!! As an American living in Rio for almost three years, I've been on a quest to find the best acai. When I finally tried Rio Acai Gourmet, after walking by it many times, I was pleasantly surprised by the cute decor of the place! And the owner could not have been nicer. And then I had the acai, and I was in heaven. It's not sickly sweet, like many of the juice stores make their acai. And it's not watered down like it is in many other places. It's perfect!
